Telephone helplines
 Telephone- and email-based services Autism Helpline: general information service for all those affected by autism spectrum disorders in the UK; includes a Welfare Rights Service. Parent to Parent Line: volunteer-run telephone support for parents by parents. Advocacy for Education is volunteer-run: Education Advice Line offers advice and information on special educational needs; the Tribunal Support Scheme is for parents wishing to challenge LA decisions.

Information and research services
 We offer a range of information services for people with ASDs, families and professionals. These include our UK-wide Autism Services Directory, professional research tools and an online shop selling books, leaflets, videos, DVDs and CD-ROMs.

Autism Accreditation
 An autism-specific quality assurance programme for over 260 organisations throughout the UK and across the globe including local authorities, NHS trusts, education authorities, local autism societies and private companies.

Our schools and outreach services
 We run a range of non profit-making schools and colleges for students of all ages with widely varying needs, including more able students and those with high support needs arising out of challenging behaviours. We also offer outreach services.

Our adult services
 We provide a wide range of residential and day services for adults with autism spectrum disorders, including residential and day provision which offers flexible, specialised support to people with varying needs.

Diagnosing complex needs
 The NAS Lorna Wing Centre for Autism is an assessment service for children, adolescents and adults with complex social and communication disorders throughout the UK. Training courses are available for professionals in the use of the Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders (DISCO) for diagnosis and assessment.

After diagnosis: support services
 Information about training: our 'help!' programme for parents of children or adolescents/adults with a recent diagnosis; EarlyBird training for parents. Information on finding support locally: NAS branches and other local services.

Our social and respite support services
 We provide services which help to build social skills: our Social Programmes are for people with AS over the age of 16 and our Befriending services are open either to adults with an ASD or to parents who would like the service for their child. Other respite services are offered but in limited locations.

Our employment and FE/HE services
 Prospects provides student support, work preparation programmes, job-finding support and employment support for people with autism and Asperger syndrome. We can also help employers with the recruitment, training and retention of staff with Asperger syndrome.

Our training, conferences and consultancy services
 We organise training courses and conferences, as well as acting as a consultant to organisations who wish to develop and expand their services for people with autistic spectrum disorders.
