The Autism Education Trust

The National Autistic Society is delighted to be hosting the new Autism Education Trust, which will play an important role in helping to shape educational provision and support for children with autism.

Benet Middleton, Director of Communications, said;

"Education is one of the biggest challenges parents of children with autism face. Autism is much more common than people think, affecting 1 in 100 children and many schools struggle to understand and support the individual needs of children with this complex disability.

The National Autistic Society is delighted to host the Autism Education Trust and welcomes the opportunity to work in partnership with colleagues across the sector. The trust will play an important role in sharing best practice, influencing decision makers, developing high quality support for early years and school staff and involving children with autism and their families in shaping provision.

The right support at the right time can make a huge difference and significantly improve outcomes for children with autism."
