University: starting at

If you are reading this information then you may have already got a place at a university, on your chosen course. This is a brief guide to starting at university and what to expect. Of course, everyone's experiences of being a student and being at university will be different. Perhaps when reading through this information it would help to write down points that you need to remember or questions you may have for university staff. This will help you to be organised in preparing for your time at university.

Here, we answer some questions which people often ask us about starting at university.

What can I expect in the first week?

What can I do to help improve my study skills?

What help can I get when leaving university and looking for employment?
Students with Asperger syndrome who live in the London area and wish to work in London may be able to access the NAS's Prospects transition project. This project is for students entering their final year of study or those who have recently graduated and aims to offer a flexible package of pre-employment training in the form of small group workshops.
